Baden Powell Scout Peak Climb Itinerary

  • Day 01 Pick up in Kathmandu and Transfer to Hotel.

    On arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, where you will be warmly received by our guides and staff with garland and then transfer you to your hotel in the hub of Kathmandu city, after getting refreshed join in with other members of Baden Powell Scout Peak Climb and Langtang Valley Trekking, where our guide will brief you with information regarding trekking, do’s and don’ts, Nepalese culture, lodge on route trek with full information to make your stay with us enjoyable and memorable, evening welcome dinner at typical Nepalese restaurant with folk-cultural program as entertainment during dinner.       

  • Day 02 Kathmandu with sightseeing tour, trek briefing and preparations.

    Morning after breakfast at given time for sightseeing tour, our city guides will meet you at the hotel for interesting sightseeing tour leading you in the heart of Kathmandu at old Durbar (palace) square of great historical importance includes Temple of Kumari (Living young virgin Goddess) Kastamandap Temple where Kathmandu name derived from, a temple built with the wood of a single tree, tour of old palace during the reign of Malla and late Shah kings.

    Tour leads to famous landmark of Nepal at Swayambhunath Stupa of more than 2,500 years old a Buddhist Chaitya or Stupa with all seeing eyes of Lord Buddha.

    Afternoon visit holy Hindu Temple of Pashupatinath adorned with silver doors and golden tiers roofed pagoda a popular and famous temple where thousands of pilgrims visits every year in the month of February on Shiva Rartri (Lord Shiva birth anniversary). From Pashupatinath a short drive to Bouddhanath with Asia’s largest domed Stupa with four cardinals eyes of Buddha surrounded with prayer wheels and small market with interesting stores, shops and restaurants, the place is also known as Little Tibet due to strong hold of Tibetan influenced tribe and peoples.

    After an interesting and exciting tour of world heritage sites return back to hotel for Baden Powell Scout Peak Climb and Langtang Valley Trekking preparation and last minute briefing from our guides and staff.

  • Day 03 Drive to Kakani 2,073 m - 02 hrs journey.

    Morning taking a short drive of few hours along Trisuli Road to reach at Kakani, where

    Nepal Scouts International Training Centre and camp located, the scout camp and activity area was donated in 1998 to Nepal Scouts by late King of Nepal. At Kakani scouts are given training on BTC, PTC, Advance and CALT. In addition the venue is used for various events and programs.

    Only twenty-five kilometers north-west of Kathmandu, one can view mountain and stunning landscape of central Himalaya with majestic peaks stretching from Ganesh Himal to Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. At Kakani a peaceful Thai Memorial Park commemorates the 113 victims of a 1992 Thai Airlines crash. The Shiva shrine across the road offers wider Himalayan views. 

  • Day 04 Drive to Syabrubesi 1,470 m via Trisuli and Dhunche town 1,950 - 06 hrs.

    Morning with an exciting overland drive on the main highway of Kathmandu to Dhunche-Syabrubesi highway, leading through Himalayan foothills, on reaching at Trisuli Bazaar a warm sub-tropical area, and then our journey continues towards uphill on long winding road towards cooler area past many farm villages and town to reach at Dhunche, at the height of 1,950 m. Headquarter and main town of Rasuwa district of Langtang area where Langtang National Park begins.

    From Dhunche drive leads downhill on zig-zag road to reach at Syabrubesi village the home of Tamang tribe people in the shadow of Ganesh and Langtang Himal, overnight in a nice cozy lodge at Syabrubesi.

  • Day 05 Trek to Lama Hotel 2,200m - 06 hrs.

    The trek from Syabrubesi leads to climbs for a while but the rest of the walk is gradual on the winding uphill trail through terraced farm fields and villages, as the trail descends and joins the path coming from upper Syabru near Riverside and place called Bamboo.

    Walk from here leads into cool forested area in a gorge following the torrential glacial Trisuli River upstream, as the path follows with a climb in the cool shade of rhododendron and oaks forest after a good walk of near six hours reaching a small clearing at Lama-Hotel for overnight stop. 

  • Day 06 Trek to Langtang village 3, 307m - 05 hrs.

    From here few hours of morning walks leads to Ghoretabela for lunch stop amidst lovely forest of pines, hemlocks and rhododendron from here onwards you can feel the altitude also.

    After a pleasant break here, trek continues on the trail to Langtang and its beautiful valley, the walk for an hour is pleasant in the cool shade of alpine woodland, after a small stream leaving the tree line behind the path leads uphill for an hour, then walk gets better on gradual trail with few ups and down to Langtang village for overnight stop.

  • Day 07 Trek to Kyanjin Gompa 3,749 m - 04 hours.

    From Langtang village walk on nice path and then on uphill trail for few hours following “mani-prayer wall” where walking clockwise direction a positive way in respect to Buddhist religion, walk leads further east as the valley opens up with views of snow capped peaks.

    After few hours of gentle walk with views brings you at Kyanjin Gompa a charming and scenic spot with beautiful views of Langtang Lirung of above 7,000m and its icefall at close distance Kyanjin Gompa, surrounded by a ridge formed by glacial moraine of rocks and boulders. 

  • Day 08 Rest day for acclimatization and for hike around.

    At leisure, a well deserved rest day here visit a small Cheese factory or walk up to Tsego-Ri or Kyngin Ri at above 4,700 m / 15,420ft which will add more heights of this adventure offers stunning panorama of snow capped mountains.

  • Day 09 Trek to Baden Powell Scout Peak Base Camp 4,300 m - 04 hrs.

    The walk from Kyanjin follows the downhill track towards Langtang khola (stream) and to a place called Chhona, from here the path climbs the hillside through rhododendron forest towards Ganja-la to camp near Branchen Kharka for Baden Powell Scout Peak which is close to Ganja-la and Naya Kanga peak at 4,100m/13,451ft this spot provides a good campsite.

    The path from Kyanjin Gompa is fairly uphill climb. We continue pleasant walking through a rhododendron forest towards the south. On the open good ground we set our camp.

  • Day 10 Summit Baden Powell Scout Peak and at base camp - 06 hrs.

    The route of ascent to the summit of Baden Powell Scout Peak at 5,718 m follows North East Ridge, which is reached by traversing the glacier shelf and then climbing an easy angled couloir to a col on the ridge. Above this col the ridge steepens normally a rope is fixed to safeguard this section of the route. There are two further steep sections beside the first steep ones which may require fixing, the climbs from here leads to a level area below the summit ridge. The summit ridge is quite broad, and it is exposed and corniced and the party will be roped together. The round trip from High Camp to the summit can take about 6-8 hours.

  • Day 11 Trek back to Kyanjin Gompa - 04 hrs.

    After a wonderful time and with awesome experience retrace our journey back to Kyanjin Gompa, a gradual downhill trail provides magnificent view of Langtang Lirung, Langshisa Ri and Shisapangma which lies wholly in Tibet. 

  • Day 12 Trek to Lama Hotel 2, 350 m - 06 hrs.

    After a wonderful time at Kyanjin, retrace the journey back on same route to Lama-Hotel a small settlement in the midst of the forest at the bank of upper Trisuli River.

  • Day 13 Trek to Syabrubesi - 06 hours walk.

    Our last day trekking of this fabulous journey lead back to Syabrubesi as the morning walk follows the same trail with much downhill passing spread-out farm villages and terrace fields and eventually reaching at Bhote Kosi River which later joins with Trisuli River, after crossing a suspension bridge a pleasant walk brings you at Syabrubesi for last and final overnights around Langtang Himal area and Rasuwa district.

  • Day 14 Drive back to Kathmandu.

    Morning an exciting and scenic drive back to Kathmandu with fond memories of fabulous and exciting Langtang Valley trekking, an interesting six hour drive brings you back at Kathmandu with afternoon free at leisure for shopping souvenirs, evening farewell dinner in nice Nepalese restaurants with Folk culture programs as entertainment.

  • Day 15 International Departure for Homeward bound.

    Last day in Nepal in the land of great Himalayan wonders with fascinating culture, after a memorable time on Baden Powell Scout Peak Climb around Langtang Valley Trekking with awesome and wonderful experience, as per your international flight time our staff transfers you to airport for the flight back home or to respective countries.
