Manaslu a massive mountain range located North Mid West Nepal Himalaya around high Gorkha valley between massive Annapurna-Lamjung Himal and Ganesh Himal with its chain of satellite peaks Boudha Himal and Himal Chuli.

Manaslu is also known as Kutang by the local Manaslu people of Tibetan origin and similar languages, the mountain was first climbed by Japanese Expeditions in May 09th 1956 by Toshio Imanishi and Nepali Gyalzen Norbu Sherpa.

The early explorer was H.W. Tilman around 1950’s, till then high Manaslu valley was closed and restricted to foreign travelers till 1990's due to its close frontier and border of Nepal and Tibet / China, where in early days great trade use to take place at Larkya bazaar, now known as Larkya Phedi or Dharmasala, the ancient Trans Himalaya Salt and Caravan Route still exists but few than past 60 years back.

The main highlights of the trip is exploring its pristine and remote high villages and monasteries of great interest with similar Buddhist culture and traditional way of life with Tibetans across the border, walking with daily views of snow capped peaks and into cool alpine forest of tall rhododendron-pines-oaks, firs and juniper trees and then entering into arctic zone of ice and glaciers with crossing of high and scenic Larkya-La pass to reach at Manang areas.

After low areas of Manang at Dharapani village an exciting overland drive brings you back at Kathmandu after a wonderful and remarkable adventure on Manaslu & Larkya-La pass trekking.
