Pisang Peak Climb Itinerary

  • Day 01 Pick up in Kathmandu and Transfer to Hotel.

    On arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, where you will be warmly received by our guides and staff with garland and then transfer you to your hotel in the hub of Kathmandu city, after getting refreshed join in with other members of Pisang Peak Climb around Annapurna Trekking, where our guide will brief you with information regarding trekking, do’s and don’ts, Nepalese culture, lodge on route trek with full information to make your stay with us enjoyable and memorable, evening welcome dinner at typical Nepalese restaurant with folk-cultural program as entertainment during dinner.       

  • Day 02 Kathmandu with sightseeing tour, trek briefing and preparations.

    Morning after breakfast at given time for sightseeing tour, our city guides will meet you at the hotel for interesting sightseeing tour leading you in the heart of Kathmandu at old Durbar (palace) square of great historical importance includes Temple of Kumari (Living young virgin Goddess) Kastamandap Temple where Kathmandu name derived from, a temple built with the wood of a single tree, tour of old palace during the reign of Malla and late Shah kings.

    Tour leads to famous landmark of Nepal at Swayambhunath Stupa of more than 2,500 years old a Buddhist Chaitya or Stupa with all seeing eyes of Lord Buddha.

    Afternoon visit holy Hindu Temple of Pashupatinath adorned with silver doors and golden tiers roofed pagoda a popular and famous temple where thousands of pilgrims visits every year in the month of February on Shiva Rartri (Lord Shiva birth anniversary). From Pashupatinath a short drive to Bouddhanath with Asia’s largest domed Stupa with four cardinals eyes of Buddha surrounded with prayer wheels and small market with interesting stores, shops and restaurants, the place is also known as Little Tibet due to strong hold of Tibetan influenced tribe and peoples.

    After an interesting and exciting tour of world heritage sites return back to hotel for Pisang Peak and around Annapurna Trekking preparation and last minute briefing from our guides and staff.

  • Day 03 Drive to Syange 1,140 m via Besisar - 06 hrs.

    Starting wonderful Pisang Peak Climb around Annapurna Trekking adventure with an interesting overland drive towards Nepal mid west, leading to Beshisar town (headquarter of Lamjung district). From here transfer to another vehicle and continue drive on dirt road passing villages of Khudi, Bhulbhule and Ngadi following the Marsyangdi River upstream.

    Drive continues through rice terraces fields and villages to Syange a small village for overnight stop in the comfort of nice lodge.

  • Day 04 Trek to Dharapani 1,943 m - 06 hrs.

    From Syange our walk begins with climb leaving Marshyangdi River behind reaching at Jagat village, a farm village with many lodges for trekkers.

    After Jagat walk leads on winding path to Chamje, and back at Marshyangdi River crossing to east side into forested area, with super views of Annapurna and Manaslu mountain ranges.

    As the walk continues reaching a nice village at Tal Besi, from here another 3 hours walk leads to our overnight stop at Dharapani village.

    Dharapani a nice village located on a junction of Annapurna circuit and Manaslu trekking trail.

  • Day 05 Trek to Chame 2,720 m - 05 hrs.

    After Dharapani walk leads into rhododendron and pine forest passing villages of Bagarchap and Danque, then at Timang village with more Buddhist cultured village including views of Mt. Manaslu 8,163m / 26,781ft. From Timang village few hours trek leads to Koto and then to Chame town for overnight stop, Chame a large major town of Manang area and a head quarter town of the district.

  • Day 06 Trek to Pisang 3,190 m - 05 hrs.

    From Pisang onwards walk leads close to mountains through alpine forests of rhododendron and pine trees, following Marshyangdi River upstream with short ups and down hills to Bhratang village. From Bhratang village walk follows uphill through alpine woodland to Dhukure Pokhari a small place with few teahouses and lodge overlooking Chulu’s and Pisang peak, with possible lunch stop, and then descends to lower Pisang village for overnight stop. 

  • Day 07 Rest day at Pisang for local hikes and acclimatization.

    Rest day in Pisang village for necessary acclimatization and physical fitness before heading high to Pisang Peak climb, on this day take a short hike around, as walking higher and sleeping at low altitude helps with acclimatization better. This rest day also helps to plan the climb where our guide provides necessary information of the area, culture, religion and climbing skill required for the climb. 

  • Day 08 Trek to Pisang Peak Base Camp 4,380m - 04 hrs.

    After a nice rest at Pisang village, our route leads north above Pisang village, as tree lines drops for short bushes within Yak grazing land, called Kharka. Climbing the high ridge above Pisang peak where our guide and staff will set up the base camp with camping equipments at 4,380 meters high, first night in tents meals prepared by our expert cook and kitchen staff.

  • Day 09 Trek and climb to High Camp 5,400 m - 03 hrs.

    A short day but tough due to high altitude, morning walk follows a faint trail where few climbers and Yak herders hardly use this path to high camp, as the walk leads over rocks, ice and glacier to reach bottom of Pisang Peak where high camp is set for the climb. Afternoon our guide will scout the area for safe accessible route to the summit fixing ropes and making ice ledges where necessary, High Camp situated on long ridge of Pisang Peak, under some conditions this area may be under snow, afternoon free to sort the gear with preparation for the early morning climb.

  • Day 10 Rest day to scout the area of climb and for acclimatization.

    A necessary day for proper preparation and acclimatization for the final ascent to the summit of Pisang peak and this day allows our guide to check the best assailable routes to reach the top of the lofty and dome shaped Pisang Peak. 

  • Day 11 Climb Pisang Peak and return to base camp time permitting to Pisang village.

    Our highlight and goal of the adventure, starting early before dawn climbing over moraine and rubble of ice falls, following our lead guide reaching high above on a well defined ridge towards last snow slope, leading quite steeply without any difficulty but with some technical sections and then climb all the way to Pisang summit with great help and support of our expert guide. On reaching the summit take a rest and admire the beautiful panorama of whole Annapurna Mountains and towards north and west Chulu range with Damodar peaks as well beyond Chulu peaks, view of Manaslu towards east horizon.

    After being on top and highest spot at 6,091 m / 19,984 ft high, descent is made on the same route to base camp, as time permits and possible with physical strength after the climb descend all the way to Pisang village.

  • Day 12 Reserve day in case of bad weather condition.

    We reserve an extra day as contingency in case of unfavorable weather condition, or to adjust this day to maintain itinerary days taking care of client’s health and fitness as well. If this day not used and if all goes well according to our standard itinerary our guide / leader will use this extra day on return trek to Manang or on route Jomsom, making shorter day with enjoyable walks with views on route.

  • Day 13 Trek to Manang 3,540 m - 05 hrs.

    Morning views of mountains, from here onward altitude gains as the walk leads through forest with short uphill and views of Annapurna II and III, Gangapurna Chulu’s and Pisang peak. Walk downhill to reach flat valley at Hongde village, from here onward tree lines fades for barren, arid landscapes with cold, dry arctic climate. Before Manang, visit old Braga monastery with old Buddhist relics, ancient wall painting and frescos and stunning views of Annapurna Himalaya, from here an hour walk reaches at Manang village.

  • Day 14 At Manang for short hikes and exploring its traditional village.

    A rest day at Manang before heading higher at Thorang-la pass, in Manang short hike around Manang village, this is a large village situated on windswept valley by the bank of Marshyangdi River below Annapurna and Gangapurna mountain range, a nice walk uphill for views of Gangapurna Glacier and Manang glacial Lake.  

  • Day 15 Trek to Yak Kharka 4,210m - 04 hrs.

    After a good rest at Manang, walk towards Ghunsang village with short uphill to reach at Yak Kharka, an interesting walk with views of snowcapped mountains, on crossing a small stream reaching Yak Kharka for overnight stop, a small settlement with views of Gangapurna, Annapurna III and Chulu Peaks. 

  • Day 16 Trek to Thorang- La High Camp or Phedi 4,450 m - 04 hrs.

    Morning walk lead to more high elevation getting closer at the base of Thorang-la after crossing a bridge with a climb along the river bank of Jarjung, finally walk leads at Thorang Phedi, here depending upon the physical conditions of the clients, if all goes well an hour steep climb to Thorang High Camp for overnight stop. 

  • Day 17 Cross Thorang La 5,416m | 17,769 ft and trek to Muktinath 3,800 m- 06 hrs.

    One of the highlight of the adventure! After early breakfast walk leads to a long climb to Thorang-la on steep winding path to reach Thorang La Pass at 5,416 m / 17,700 ft.

    The highest point of the adventure with views of snowcapped peaks, and then with long descends to reach at holy Muktinath around Lower Mustang area.

    On reaching Muktinath for overnight stop, this is a holy spot for both Hindus and Buddhists the word Muktinath literally means ‘the place for Nirvana or Liberation’.

  • Day 18 Trek to Jomsom 2, 715 m - 04 hours.

    From Muktinath, rest of the walks is easier with big drop of 1,200m as the trail descend to Kaligandaki river valley to reach at Jomsom, headquarter town of Mustang region with a small airstrip above Kaligandaki River, an interesting country walking on Kaligandaki River valley within dry and arid country with incredible views of windblown hills and canyons.

    A pleasant walk of few hours brings you at large town in Jomsom the capital of Thakali people of Tibetan Buddhism sects. At Jomsom for overnight stop headquarter town of Mustang district with nice paved streets and many well kept lodges.

    This Kaligandaki area famous for delicious apples and its products, here celebrate with local apple products cider, brandy and juices. Kaligandaki area is also famously known as Apple Pie Trail.  

  • Day 19 Fly to Pokhara and transfer to hotel.

    Morning short walk to Jomsom small airport for short scenic flight to picturesque Pokhara valley, Pokhara with massive Annapurna Mountain views with serene Phewa Lake where our hotels located, afternoon free for individual activities and souvenir shopping or just relax and enjoy the views.

  • Day 20 From Pokhara drive to Kathmandu 1,345 m - 06hrs.

    After a wonderful time on high mountains and hills, taking a morning driving journey back to Kathmandu, on reaching Kathmandu after 5-6 hours of nice interesting drive, transfer to respective hotels with afternoon free at leisure or last day shopping souvenirs and handicrafts.

    (Options by air 30 minutes flight back to Kathmandu with great views).

  • Day 21 International Departure for Homeward bound.

    Last day in Nepal in the land of great Himalayan wonders with fascinating culture, after a memorable Pisang Peak Climb and on scenic Manang and Kaligandaki valley Trekking with awesome wonderful experience, as per your international flight time our staff transfers you to airport for the flight back home or to respective countries.
